I'm still here...and a few favourites!

20 attempts...That's how long it took me to log into this account. Clearly I should keep a note of my passwords if I plan to be away for so long!

I've been thinking about blogging/filming again for a while now but something always gets in the way. I guess I'm a bit of a perfectionist, so I plan and plan, but if I don't feel it's going to be perfect, then I don't even want to start! But I felt I had to get on here today and blog. I've had a few e-mails asking where I am and I wanted to check in and say 'Hello!'. Most of you probably realised from the last few posts and videos that my job is the main reason that I don't post anymore. I just don't have the free time that I did when I started my blog and youtube channel.

Onto my favourites of the moment...

The Necklace

I bought this off Ebay (Lookbook Store) a couple of months ago and I am rarely seen without it. It makes any outfit look 'Wow!' and I've seen nothing like it in any high street stores.

The Cardigan

I got this on sale from River Island. It is the perfect snugly cardigan and has the most interesting design. Another thing to note is how well it washes...no bobbles in sight as of yet!

The Peplum

Peplum tops go perfect with skinny jeans and easily dress up an outfit. This one is from Topshop (£18), but if you're looking to get one for half the price head to Primark!

The Makeup

Mac Pink Swoon blush
Mac Overtime Pro Longwear Lipcreme
Afterglow Cosmetics Lip Soother in Coo (The most buttery lip balm ever...and it smells like sugary lemon cakes)

The Coral Primark Blouse

I've never actually thought about buying a backup of a top before...until I purchased this blouse from Primark.
It is the perfect coral/peach shade that actually makes my skin, hair and even my mood brighter!

At £8 it's not one of the cheapest tops you can buy from Primark, but it doesn't exactly break the bank. And the quality is nice enough that it won't fall apart within the first wash.

There are racks full of pretty blouses in Primark at the moment in a variety of different colours and prints. So if you're not too keen on this one, there's bound to be something in a style you like!

Flawless and Long Lasting Everyday Makeup Routine

Working all day without the chance to get to a mirror means I need makeup that I know won't budge and will look flawless all day long! In particular I like my skin to look perfect and almost doll-like.
I've been testing out different foundations over the past few weeks and there is only one that truly lasts the day...

Revlon Colorstay (Oily/combination). It's a matte foundation that gives medium/full coverage.

I've been using it with L'oreal's Smoothing Resurfacing Primer and this makes the foundation go on smooth and stops any caking. It doesn't necessarily make the foundation last any longer, but you really don't need it to!

Face
L'oreal Studio Secrets Smoothing Resurfacing Primer
Revlon Colorstay Oily/Combination Foundation - Sand Beige
Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer - Light
Rimmel Silky Loose Face Powder
Sleek Contour Kit - Light
MeMeMe Blush Me - Pink
Eyes
Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow - RSVP
Too Faced Natural Eye Palette - Silk Teddy, Push-up & Heaven
L'oreal Super Liner - Carbon Gloss
Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara
Lips
MAC Hue Lipstick

What's your favourite foundation that lasts the day?

Neom Happiness Candle

"A Sparkling blend of White Neroli, Mimosa and Lemon is combined with natural fresh grass notes to create the awakening of spring."

I could not have described the scent of this candle better. When lit I feel as though I'm sitting in a field of flowers with the sun shining down on me! It's a glorious blend of natural ingredients that truly captures the smell and feeling of spring.

I'm usually a big fan of Yankee Candle, however no scent I've bought from them compares to the fresh, crisp scent of the Happiness Home Candle. It contains:
  • No paraffin wax
  • No synthetic scents
  • No black smoke
  • No toxins
  • Only natural wax and pure essential oils

This candle is perfect for a relaxing evening on the sofa or after a hard day at work. It would also be great if you were having friends round as it really freshens up a room!

The only downside is the £37.50 price tag. However it does give up to 55 hours burn time and only needs to be lit for a short amount of time but will keep a room fragrant for hours.

I've now got my eye on the Serenity Candle which combines Vanilla and Sandalwood - two of my favourite scents.

The Trooper

I've managed to get three days off for this weekend which is absolutely amazing! I haven't had two days off in a row in what feels like ages...so to get three is like a dream come true!

I thought I'd post a couple of 'going out' outfits this weekend as I don't feel like I've posted many in the past. As I usually go to Rock/Metal bars my outfit usually consists of a metal tee and shorts or jeans! But to add a slightly more glamorous touch I decided to wear my faux fur jacket from BooHoo.

Iron Maiden T-shirt - EBay
Pleather shorts - H&M
Leopard Print Boots - BooHoo (or similar on EBay)

Hope you're all having a fantastic Friday night!!

Back To Metal

It was my day off today so I was able to get back into my metal tees which makes me very happy indeed! I've worn this Metallica Jump Into The Fire t-shirt to death over the past couple of months and I love it for a number of reasons:
1. It's white which I much prefer to the usual black metal tees available
2. It has a worn/vintage look to it, and
3. It's the perfect size (men's small) that's comfortably loose/casual

It was also the perfect warm day today so I got my legs out for the first time this year - woop!! Unfortunately I hadn't fake tanned the night before so had to wear sheer tights, which is very precarious for me as I'm so clumsy and usually end up snagging anything below about 40 denier within an hour.

On a completely separate note, if you know of any nail product that really helps peeling/splitting nails please leave a comment below. I've had to cut my nails so short as they keep splitting at the ends and none of my usual remedies (Solar Oil and OPI Nail Envy) are working. So if you have any recommendations I'd really appreciate it!
